Geely has officially unveiled its flagship 4×4 plug-in hybrid sport-utility vehicle, the Galaxy Cruiser 700, and presents it as a direct rival to the Jetour G700. The SUV is equipped with the Thor EM-T AWD PHEV powertrain, which pairs either a 1.5-liter or a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with three electric motors. Together they generate a combined output of 830 kW, equivalent to 1,128 PS, delivering strong acceleration and high-speed capability.
The model offers several pre-set drive modes designed for off-road situations, such as the “Crab Walk” and “Waltz Turn” settings that shrink the turning radius to 3.36 meters, allowing tight maneuvering in confined spaces. A rear mechanical differential lock further improves traction on challenging terrain. Power is stored in a 47.14 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, which provides an electric-only range of 305 km under the CLTC testing cycle, while the total system range exceeds 1,200 km when both fuel and electric energy are used.
According to the company’s internal tests, the vehicle can travel more than 1,700 km on a full fuel tank combined with a fully charged battery. Its 800 V electrical architecture supports rapid DC charging, reducing downtime. The exterior measures 5,085 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,895 mm in height, built on a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance stands at 233 mm, water-wading capability reaches 800 mm, and the approach and departure angles are 30 degrees and 31 degrees respectively.
The cabin incorporates a built-in refrigerator that can maintain temperatures from –6 °C up to 50 °C, catering to long trips. A dual-opening panoramic sunroof floods the interior with natural light, while seats fold completely flat to create space for an air-filled mattress. Additional comforts include acoustic glass to reduce road noise, ventilated massage seats for driver and passengers, and a swing-out tailgate that simplifies loading of cargo.
The Galaxy Cruiser 700 is currently on sale within China, and the automaker has indicated that Geely Motor Philippines Corporation may bring the SUV to the Philippine market in the near future. If the rollout proceeds, local buyers will gain access to the same powertrain specifications and interior amenities described above.
