Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG G 63 Offroad Pro in India, priced at Rs. 3.80 crore (ex-showroom). This limited-edition model enhances the G 63 range with advanced off-road technology and expedition-specific features, developed specifically for challenging terrains.
The 3,982 cc handcrafted twin-turbo V8 engine delivers 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque, paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. An integrated starter generator provides an additional 15 kW of assistance at lower engine speeds, optimizing performance. Meanwhile, the AMG Performance 4Matic system ensures power is efficiently distributed to all four wheels. Despite its off-road focus, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 240 kmph.
Key off-road features include AMG Traction Pro, which operates in Rock and Sand modes, and adjustable roll control. The redesigned cockpit features a 12.3-inch display that provides terrain-specific data such as vehicle position, compass information, altitude, steering angle, tyre pressure, tyre temperature, and differential lock status. The Transparent Hood function uses cameras to display the area ahead of the front axle, enhancing visibility in rugged conditions.

Chassis upgrades include AMG active suspension with hydraulic roll stabilisation and adaptive damping. The AMG Active Balance Control allows drivers to adjust roll stiffness across three stages in off-road modes. The system offers seven locking levels, enabling the vehicle to handle challenging terrains, including deep sand, by independently controlling braking torque at each wheel.
Exterior highlights include a roof luggage rack with continuous aluminium panels and a removable rear ladder, unique 20-inch AMG five-twin-spoke alloy wheels with a matte black finish and diamond-turned rim flanges, and 275/50 R20 tyres. The design is completed with AMG-specific bumpers and flared wheel arches. Inside, Nappa leather upholstery, configurable ambient lighting, and the MBUX NTG7 system with 12.3-inch screens offer luxury and connectivity. Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB-C connectivity, and augmented-reality navigation further enhance the experience.
The Burmester 3D Surround Sound System delivers 760W through 18 speakers, complemented by acoustic glass and extra insulation to minimize cabin noise. Safety features include Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and a 360-degree camera, with additional driver assistance functions available in the technology pack.
